Large Steel Silo for Cement Storage
Steel silo structural parameters and cement storage quality
1. Steel Silo Structural Parameters
The steel silo is a new concept of the load storage. The optimum height-to-diameter ratio of the steel silo is 1 : 1 or so. Steel silo is a significant invention for storage of bulk cement. It can not only solve the problem of safe storage of cement and fly ash in the off-season, but also has the problem of shortage of supply during peak sales season. It is also a repository for the centralized use of cement and bulk transfer and have a very prominent effect in energy-saving emission reduction and environmental protection .
2. Cement Storage
Inside the steel silo, the cement will be stacked continuously along the slope at the time of storage, so that the cement stored at different times can be evenly distributed.
In the discharging process, the gasification pipe in the bottom of the silo is alternately inflated in sequence so that the high-density sedimentary cement is vaporized and mixed in the gas infiltration until it forms a fluidized state. It passes through the discharge port of the silo and enters transport vehicle through the outbound transfer pipe.
The physical properties of cement before and after storage are basically the same. The initial settling time of the discharged cement was slightly longer and the flexural strength was slightly reduced. The compressive strength at 28 days increased by 0.17 MPa, indicating that the storage effect was ideal.
Production Requirements and Material Usage
The load on the steel silo is completely accumulated on the ground. Because the pressure caused by the accumulated cement is even, the reservoir floor does not require special treatment except for the discharge channel and the moisture barrier layer. The welding of the silo body in the steel silo is a lap joint and does not require support strengthening measures. In addition to shaped steel tubes, spherical domes do not require special reinforcements neither.
Total Investment
The total investment of the steel silo consists of the basic investment of the steel silo and the investment in the cost of the database. If the silo is built on the poor flow of sand, the basic investment of the steel silo will account for 34% of the total investment; if it is built in a soft and squishy place, the basic investment will not exceed 15% of the total investment. If it is built on sandy ground, the cost could be even lower. The total expenditure of different consumables and transportation charges for different reserves in different regions after entering the factory, plus 30% to 40% of tools, welding rods, antirust paint, and construction costs, can basically be regarded as the total investment in the cost of the steel silo.
Conclusion
1. The steel silo can guarantee cement storage quality.
2. Enterprises of different scales can use different reserves and quantities of steel silos to ensure continuous production, meet the sales requirements of peak seasons, and maximize corporate profits.
3. The low investment and the high speed in construction can solve the problem of cement storage during off-season in a relatively short period of time (sometimes silos could be finished constructing around a month).
4. Its diameter ratio is large, it does not tilt down, and is safer than small silos in the event of an earthquake.
5. It is suitable for a variety of geological conditions, and the pneumatic transport can make the cement away from the production workshop, making sales more convenient.
